- 1986 computer system installed for display manufacturing business
- 1992 first Compaq active matrix screen laptop purchased for business travel
- 1994 experienced early email virus and began learning about malware
- 1996 started computer tutoring, training, support and consulting
- 1999 Joined Philly based venture fund/tech incubator
- 2000 relocated to Houston and immediately started participating in the vibrant Houston technology community
- 2003 became 25,845th member of LinkedIn (500,000,000 users today)
- Received personal letter from Reid Hoffman, founder of LinkedIn, thanking the 1st 100,000 members, who he said were the early adopters who made LinkedIn possible to succeed
- 2004 joined BirdNest Technology with offices in the Houston Technology Center
- 2006 joined Facebook as soon as it opened to the public
There is a lot more to my tech experience to list but it all contributed to being able to help others learn about the growing challenges of being safe on computers and in an online world. This site is the result of that experience. My goal is to help others be better at avoiding some of the issues we all face. These issues are not going away but will change over time.
